Happy Monday!

I hear wedding bells ringing…

Oh my gosh, after months of planning and all kinds of things that needed to be done like sticking pieces of lace to bottles, making bows and choosing flowers, the day has finally arrived.

I can’t even believe it!

Today my friend, Estelle, gets married!

Let me just say, it was relatively smooth sailing except for the bridesmaid dresses.

A couple of weeks I ago, I did a post (that you can read here) about tips on what to do when you’re going for a dress fitting at a tailor.

The night before my dress fitting which was about two weeks ago, I got a text from the dress maker at 8 o’clock, saying I don’t need to come for a fitting anymore, because she couldn’t find the material for the dress. I nearly had a heart attack because at that stage it was TWO WEEKS before Estelle’s wedding.

I felt really angry that this woman clearly didn’t think that Estelle’s wedding was a priority since she had months notice in advance and she could’ve gotten the material long ago.

Anyway, luckily we managed to find dresses at YDE for R200 less than the would’ve initially paid the tailor, and the colour is perfect and fits in well with the rest of the wedding colours. The woman at least managed to finish Estelle’s wedding dress.

Here are some pics of the dress:

Please do excuse my hair, make up and tired look on my face. I just got back from work when I dragged my mom out to take these pictures, and it was a long day. 🙂

Happy Friday!

FOTD: Berry ice cream

fotd 5

Time for another FOTD and embarrassing photos of me sitting with my eyes closed to show you my eye make up. 😉

It’s summer in South Africa, but I’ve been seeing so many berry lips and cat eyes on Pinterest, I simply could not resist doing a berry lip today myself. If you’re living in a country where it’s fall, this look will work well for you.

Poll time! Help me pick a new hair colour!

I’ve had my hair ombre´d for almost two years now and I think it’s time for a bit of a change.

The only problem is I can’t decide which way I want to go. I love auburn hair, but I also really love white blonde hair.

FOTD: Sparkly eyes and a bold lip

Lately I’ve been loving a sparkly golden eye with a bright lip.

It’s summer here and the temperature is reaching highs of 30ºC so fun make up is a must!

Review: The Face Shop Real Nature Masks

Real Nature masks in Pomegranate and Honey

Real Nature masks in Pomegranate and Honey

As I’ve mentioned before, my best friend was in South Korea for a year teaching English. Whenever she came back to South Africa to visit she would bring me all kinds of awesome Korean goodies and one of those particular goodies happened to be these face masks.

Now I’m not particularly a face mask type of girl. I either forget I have it on my face and walk around looking ridiculous for hours or I get impatient and want to wash it off almost instantly.

Which is why it came as such a surprise that I absolutely love these masks! She brought back three and I used the blueberry one. I’ve already chucked out the packaging so sorry guys, I’m not going to go dig through my trash to fish it out again, but it pretty much looks around the same line as the other two. 🙂

Firstly, the mask is very gentle on my skin. It’s very moisturizing and I used the excess liquid in the packet to moisturize my neck and arms. That sounds weird I know but it’s that moisturizing and nothing peeves me off more than a semi dried out product.

I like that the masks are sheet masks so you literally just pop it out the packet and put it on your face and go about your business for 10 to 12 minutes and when you’re done, you take it off and that’s that. No need to rinse your face off or anything. #winning

The scent is also not overpowering and overly synthetic. It just smells clean and fresh, which I like.

After I took the mask off, I didn’t dry or splash water in my face, I just let my skin soak up the product and when I woke up the next morning my skin was incredibly soft and smooth.

So seriously, if you have tired, dull skin and you need a bit of pampering or a pick-me-up, head out to The Face Shop and pick these up.

I’m heading off to the UAE again in January for my lovely cousin’s wedding so I will definitely be buying a couple of these. The Face Shop is unfortunately not in Southern Africa. Boo!
