Make-up shaming: My views

Being a lover of beauty and a beauty blogger, I’ve often come across people (sadly other girls mostly) criticizing the fact that you love make-up. I’ve also personally felt embarrassed to tell people that I blog about beauty because it’s perceived as being frivolous and superficial.

People who don’t adore make-up just don’t get it.

They don’t understand the thrill of using a new lipstick for the first time or the rush you get when you hear one of your favourite make-up brands will be launching in your country soon (Benefit Cosmetics is coming to South Africa next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or when you walk into a shop and you spend hours looking at the pretty products.

A person who loves beauty gets the same euphoria from beauty products as a guy who’s super into cars gets from a new car smell. Yet, nobody f***ing judges him for liking cars do they?!

We’re all different and we all have different passions and purposes in life so if you’re not into something, avoid it or just tolerate the fact that other people are different.

And just because you tolerate it and smile politely doesn’t make you fake either. It makes you a damn adult.
