It’s my birthday next week and to get into the spirit of things, Mr. S, his brother and I went to the Nan Hua Buddhist temple in Bronkhorstspruit.
Why go to a temple to get ready for your 25th birthday you ask? I agree it’s unusual, but I love the temple. It’s absolutely beautiful and it really feels like you’re in another country when you’re there. It’s also incredibly peaceful and quiet. Mr. S and I went exploring the grounds on our third or fourth date many moons ago.
The temple is MASSIVE. You can see it from the highway, but it’s quite far from where I live so if you live in Centurion or Johannesburg, make a day of it because it’s about an hour’s drive without traffic and you go through at least one tollgate.
Also when visiting the temple, be sure to wear comfy shoes that you can take off easily, because you’re not allowed to wear shoes inside the shrines and you also can’t take pictures. Trust me, they get quite upset when you do. I took pictures inside the restaurant where technically you can and the woman had a hissy fit of note. She literally sprinted across the room to scold me.
Here’s what I wore:
Jacket: Jay Jays (R499)
Scarf: Gift from a friend
Earrings: Forever New
Jeggings: Pick n Pay Clothing (R180)
Boots: Edgars (R595)
Foundation: Bobbi Brown
Mascara: Maybelline The Rocket
Blush: Too Faced
Lipstick: MAC’s All Fired Up
Face powder: Estee Lauder
Here are some more pictures of the temple and the surrounding grounds:
I love how high waisted jeans look on curvier girls and I never thought I’d be able to pull it off since I’m quite petite and about as curvy as a plank, but when I saw a pair on sale at Mr. Price (it was marked down to R119,00 from R190,00) I decided “Ah what the heck?” and bought them.
And I’m so glad I did! The jeans actually make you look curvier and like you have a more defined waist, which is always a win.
I also bought a leopard print top.
Items in photo:
Sandals: Rage (R110,00)
Jeans: Mr. Price (R119,99)
Leopard top: Mr. Price (R39,99)
Sunglasses: Vintage Ray-Bans
Pearls: Mr. Price (R39,99)
Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Berry
I got the Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Dubai.
What do you think? Do you like leopard print or high waisted jeans?

So about a month ago I bought my very first car. I had one before but it was one that my parents gave me when I started university so I didn’t pay for it.
Needless to say, six years later it was definitely time for a new one since I didn’t have airbags, aircon, a properly working radio or anything in the old car.
I had to go pick up some paperwork at the dealership the other day and this is what I wore:
Denim vest: Mr. Price
Floral shorts (yes those are shorts and not a skirt): Jam
Shoes: Mr. Price
Handbag: Forever New

The holidays and year end functions are coming up!
Like you ever even need an excuse to wear sequins, now you don’t have a reason not to! Although, be warned, you don’t want to look like a disco ball. Stick to one item of sequins and you’ll be the belle of the ball.
Would you wear the outfit above to your office party?
P.S I’m on Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram. Come say hey. 🙂

The night before I sprayed my entire head with Batiste dry shampoo and just slept with it in. I brushed my hair out and tied my hair in a simple side pony tail using a rubber band that’s actually office supply. I don’t recommend doing that at all, I just couldn’t find my proper hair tie in my hand bag. 😉
